I know you are in a precarious position concerning the auto bail outs. Your constituency is largely made up of auto workers. I am a Michigan resident and am not an auto worker. In fact I am in the insurance industry and am about to lose my job. Who is going to bail me out? The point is I do not want a bail out and I am totally against a bail out for the auto industry. Congress is putting a band aid on a deeper problem and growing government bureaucracy at the same time. Once we create a car czar we will always have a car czar because nothing the federal gov't creates is ever disbanded. Why are Congressional leaders saying bankruptcy is not an option for the Big 3? Bankruptcy is designed to let companies restructure and emerge leaner. Bankruptcy is the correct solution and should be the only solution to the problem. By bailing out the auto companies we are prolonging the inevitable. And this is all at the expense of the taxpayer!! We can not afford this!!! Why do UAW workers deserve federal bail outs while other non union American workers suffer? No one should be bailed out. The markets need to correct themselves. America is heading toward socialism like a freight train and this is most alarming! The federal government should not be in the business of running private industry. The fed government cant even manage its own check book! Russia ran industry and we all knew they were a communist country. I don't want that for my children and grandchildren.
